Jill Oetting - Building Principal

Hello, my name is Jill Oetting. I am currently in my eighth year at Becky-David and this year is my 27th year in education. I started my career as a special education paraprofessional at Francis Howell North where I loved being a part of the FHN and Francis Howell community. I continued my career at Howell North teaching business and marketing followed by teaching fourth and fifth grades at Harvest Ridge. Over the years, I have served on countless committees, curriculum-writing teams, and attended numerous professional development days.  I was also a coach for many years and a sponsor for multiple clubs. All of those amazing experiences led me to become an assistant principal and principal at Becky-David.

My passion as an educator is to help students and staff grow as well as build strong relationships. On a daily basis you will find me spending time with our students in the classroom, lunchroom and at recess. At Becky-David, we pride ourselves on being a big family and showing our students how much we care about them.

When I am not at work, you can find me watching my daughters play sports and spending time with my family and our two dogs. I love music, dancing and I have a passion for decorating which I love to share with my family and friends. I hope someday be able to cook and travel more and learn how to sew.

Becky-David is a National Blue Ribbon and Missouri Gold Star school and I am excited every day to keep those practices in place that led us to earning those awards. After all, at Becky-David, we shine bright by living our motto: Do Your Best Work and Be Your Best Self.

Krista Boardman - Assistant Principal

My name is Krista Boardman and I have been an Assistant Principal at Becky-David Elementary since 2006.  I have been in the Francis Howell School District since 2000.  I began my career as an elementary teacher and have worked at Central, Harvest Ridge, and Becky-David Elementary schools in the FHSD district.  Early in my career, I obtained additional certifications in reading, special education, and administration.  I ran a program in FHSD for students with severe behavioral and learning skill deficits when I was a special education teacher.  I have written curriculum for lagging social skills and have always have a high interest in learning more about behavioral modification.
After work, I love spending time with my family and enjoy many outside activities.  I am married to a creative and caring man named John Boardman.  We like to play tennis, ski, spend time with our children and grandchildren, go to concerts, and be outside any chance we can.  We hope to travel more in the future to beaches and mountains all over the world.

I have enjoyed working with our students and families in the Francis Howell School District for the last twenty-two years.  I am still excited to come to work each day and truly am grateful for the opportunity to spend quality time teaching and supporting children and their families.  I feel incredibly honored to continue to work with my colleagues and all of the FHSD community.

Dr. Sarah Sides - Assistant Principal

Hello! My name is Sarah Sides, and I am honored to be a part of the Becky-David community. I am currently in my 17th year in education, seven of those being in Francis Howell. During my career, I taught third-grade, English as a Second Language, and have been an administrator. I have earned a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. The greatest and most rewarding part of being in education is the relationships made with students, families, and the community. I value and work towards making each student feel valued and important daily. I aim to continue learning and instill a love of learning in students.

Outside school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. We enjoy traveling, going on adventures, and spending time with family and friends. I am always up for trying something new, but I enjoy hanging out at home too.

Becky-David is such a wonderful place to be and I am thankful to have the opportunity to build relationships, learn, grow, and lead with our school community.
